Through the Lens of Yasmin Murphy

East Fork

Through the Lens of Yasmin Murphy

Our spring color trio on film, part 1.

We asked three photographers to capture our spring trio on film to show off the varying nature in different settings. Each one was hand-picked by someone on our team, bringing a personal connection to the way the colors were seen and captured.

First up: Yasmin Murphy

"I discovered Yasmin’s work after years of living in East Tennessee. Her photography captures a state that is my favorite combination: dreamy and serene."
- Allie B., Ecomm Merchandising Manager

East Fork: Yasmin, can you tell us a bit about your photos and your connection to East Fork?

Yasmin: I’m excited to share my interpretation of the spring lineup. Each piece felt so distinct and thoughtfully made. I was especially drawn to the light falling on Water Lily, how effortlessly Thistle paired with everything around it, and the richness of Lagoon—a green that reminded me so much of the shades in my own backyard, from the stems in my growing garden to the Japanese maple stretching tall in my front yard.

I first discovered East Fork nearly a decade ago during a trip to see a show at Orange Peel. I got to town early and spent the afternoon walking around downtown before stumbling into the East Fork shop. At the time, I was a broke college student, but I decided to splurge on a mug in Taro. I treasured that mug then, and I still do today. Since that visit, it’s become a tradition for me to treat myself to a new piece of pottery every year on my birthday.

So when you reached out about collaborating, I was genuinely floored. It felt surreal to create photos for a brand I’ve admired and felt connected to for so long.

There’s something truly special about East Fork — from the unique colorways and the sturdiness of the pieces to the thoughtful stories tied to each seasonal collection. I wanted these photos to reflect what I personally love about the brand while also sharing my own experience of living with East Fork pieces in my everyday life.

Thank you again for inviting me to be part of this collaboration. It truly meant so much to me.
