Breakfast Bowl

The perfect bowl for little snacks, light breakfasts, just about anything served to little eaters.

Breakfast is just the beginning, as they say. Serve olives, almonds or dips on a party tray or an appetizer-sized serving of a chilled summer soup. Make a handful of crackers or a little bag of Cheetos more of an event. We call it the Breakfast Bowl, but we find uses for it all day long. Also great for little eaters, who will find that the wider, footed base makes it less tippy than the Ice Cream Bowl.

— Our pottery is made by humans and reduction-fired in Asheville, North Carolina. Any differences in glaze applications and surfaces are there to embrace.

— Avoid open flames or preheated ovens. Our pots are oven safe up to 350° but must start in a cool oven and be brought up to heat gradually (think crème brûlée).
— Over time, your pots might accumulate mild cutlery marks. These can be buffed off with warm water and scouring powder such as Bar Keeper's Friend. More information.

Low, open and gently curved, our Shallow Bowls were designed to strike the right balance between openness and containment. They’re versatile forms that many East Fork collectors say are the forms they reach for most.

The broad base makes these bowls particularly hard to tip. It’s one reason we like the Breakfast Bowl for little kids and pets—whether they’re eating at the table or on the floor.

Add some extra color to your grain bowl. Arrange fruit into your yogurt and granola. One day, you’ve never thought about “plating” a meal. The next, you’re someone who lets the phone eat first.

We use a few different methods to shape our clay into plates, bowls, mugs and more. Once the forms are made, each piece is hand-trimmed or finished with a sponge machine to smooth the edges before its first firing.

Our co-founder John has said that the Everyday Bowl was originally designed to appear at rest, like a well-worn river rock. That same low-slung curve runs through the whole series.
